He Is an Honorably Discharged Veteran Who Has Devoted His Adult Life to Giving Back

Tomball Independent School District published an alumni spotlight on Jimmy Rogers, a Tomball High School graduate and honorably discharged Navy veteran. The district wrote that a personal experience in uniform is what pushed him to start Boots For Troops: watching deployed service members go without care packages, then deciding the answer was to pack them himself.

The profile sits in the same hometown record as the 2015 Chronicle and ABC13 pieces. Jimmy came home from the USS Theodore Roosevelt, stood the nonprofit up in Tomball, and has spent his adult life since then on care packages, flights home, veteran relief, and the events that fund the year.

The original Tomball ISD page now returns a 404. An archived copy is linked below. The graduate they were proud of is still in town, still packing, and still running the shop that started with his name on a GoFundMe from the Persian Gulf.
