Navy Veteran Launches Boots For Troops Non-Profit

Deployed U.S. service members with the American flag, the people Boots For Troops was founded to remember

ABC13 aired a Hometown Live segment in August 2015 on Jimmy Wayne Rogers Jr., a Navy veteran using what the station called a passion for boots to lift morale for troops still serving abroad. Rogers joined the Navy in 2011, graduated Tomball High School in 2006, and after leaving Virginia moved home to Tomball to run Boots For Troops, which he had begun that May.

The short report framed the new nonprofit as a local answer to a simple gap: service members working overseas who needed to know someone at home was thinking of them. It pointed viewers to Boots4Troops.com for anyone who wanted to help.

That first-year story is the same origin the shop still tells. Jimmy was at sea. Lindsey was packing from home. The packages were personal, and they always included a new pair of boots.

Stand With Those Who Serve

Every package, flight home, scholarship, and act of relief starts with someone who decided to show up.
