Landy and Shaler Markets Raise Over $14,000 in a Few Hours During QMCC

Last October, the Landy and Shaler Texas Roadhouse markets partnered with Boots For Troops during QMCC and raised more than $14,000 in a few hours. Stores in the area donated 1,800 meals, including pulled pork, ribs, sides, and fresh-baked bread. More than 40 Roadies and a dozen volunteers ran the day.
Market partner Todd Shaler said supporting troops is the biggest joy the restaurants get each year. Market partner Joe Landy put the local effort next to the chain’s Veterans Day work: Roadhouse serves comfort food in the store, and this partnership tries to send that same comfort to troops who are away from home.
The markets set a follow-on goal of $20,000 for Boots For Troops. The check presented that day was made out for $14,140.
