Boots For Troops Launches the Jimmy Rogers Military Spouse Scholarship

On April 20, 2022, Boots For Troops announced the Jimmy Rogers Military Spouse Scholarship through PR Newswire. Awards of up to $10,000 go to military spouses whose service members are on active duty, for tuition, books, and supplies.

The first cycle asked applicants to be the spouse of an active-duty service member ranked E6 or below, enlisted in Texas; a high school senior, graduate, or current undergraduate; and planning to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational school in the United States that fall.

Jimmy Rogers founded the organization in 2015 while deployed on the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Seven years later the scholarship became the fourth program beside care packages, holiday and emergency travel, and support such as service dogs for veterans. “Spouses serve alongside our heroes,” Rogers said, “and I believe they deserve an opportunity to earn their education, or a skill set so they can better serve their family.”
