Houston Truck Group Donates More Than $100k to Military Charity

KPRC 2 reported that Houston Diesels, a Houston truck club, donated more than $100,000 to Boots For Troops. The club started in 2015 with a handful of diesel enthusiasts and has grown to thousands of members who raise money for local charities. Across those years they have given more than $600,000 to organizations from MD Anderson to local rescues.
In 2023 the group directed all proceeds from the 7th annual Houston Diesels Beach Bash to Boots For Troops. KPRC 2 was there for the check presentation: $104,338. Arthur Latigo, chief operating officer of Houston Diesels, said the club wanted to give back to veterans, active-duty troops, and their families, including members who never had the chance to serve themselves.
Co-founder Jimmy Rogers told the station that Boots For Troops sends custom care packages, each finished with a new pair of boots, and called the work “a hug in a box.” He said part of the gift would help train a service dog for a veteran in need.
