In honor of Veteran’s Day, local Walmart stores and employees banned together to host not one, but two packaging parties.  On November 11th, Veteran’s Day, Walmart store in Tomball, TX on Kuykendahl Road opened up its giving space for its employees to help package 20 packages for our currently deployed troops.  This store also donated over $500 worth of extra items to go into our packages to ensure they brought extra joy to those away from home.

On November 13th, employees from Walmart stores around Houston got together to package another 30 packages for our troops.  On top of their dedicated time, Walmart Corporate donated $10,000 to cover the costs of those packages.  This year, Walmart stores have donated over $13,000 to our Care Package Program.

We can not express our gratitude enough to the wonderful employees who have stepped up to truly make a difference in the lives of our deployed troops.  Each Care Package costs roughly $300, included in that package is a brand new pair of boots of the service members choosing and the service members favorite snacks and items they may need or miss where they currently are deployed.  The mission of Boots For Troops is to uplift and empower the overall morale and mental wellbeing of our deployed troops.  We strongly believe that our troops deserve the very best.  With the support of Walmart and many others, we can proudly say that the mission is being fulfilled.
